Some people know the Lord's will and for certain reasons choose not to follow it. But after a while when they begin to see negative conseuqences, then they begin to repent and eventually follow his perfect will.
May be I'm thinking of who to get marry to, what type of car I should buy, the kind of friends to be with, these are just examples of some of the things that we try to decide upon.
Usually, when we understand the word of God and choose not to live by the letter of the law but rather by grace, then we have a true understanding of what the Lord wants from us.And when we are used to reading and listening to the word, we can easily discern what the Lord will is for our lives.
Abraham was a man that obey the voice of God and it was credited to him as righteousness to him because he heard God's voice, left his father's household and with his wife and went by FAITH,to a land which he hadn't been to and dwelt there.
Abraham had a choice, he could have chosen to stay in where he was, but because he CHOSE to obey he left and he became the father of manny nations.
When we believe God and HIS word, then we take a step of faith based on the word.
Faith comes by hearing the word of God(Rom.10:17).
It is necessary, for us to seek out the will of GOD.
David was a man after GOD'S own heart. Whenever he's about to embark on a journey,
he inquires from the Lord, if or not, he should go on.
They usually had priests then but after Jesus came and ascended to heaven he became the high priest making interession for the saints in heaven and whenever we need to
find his will and pray, we should approach the throne of grace boldly so that we may find grace in the day of need.
When we got saved, we ourselves became a royal priesthood unto God, and a holy nation and a chosen people(1Pet.2:9).
This gives us the courage to speak with the Lord through prayer.
We must not misuse the grace that we have but appropriate it accordingly for His glory, amen.
And as Moses, lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up: That whosoever beliveth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world. that he gave his only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life(John 3:14-16).

Knowing the Lord's perfect and permissive will (Part 1).
We have the scriptures to guide us in life. There's a need for us christians to know what the God's will is for us. There is GOD'S PERFECT WILL and GOD'S PERMISSIVE WILL.
We have as humans our own will that was given to us when we were made (GEN.1:26).We were made in God's image. We can find his will in his word.Everything we need to know is in his word.
The problem we often have is finding not being able to submit to his perfect will. Jesus came to the world to do the perfect will of God.There are many things in life that we often feel confused about. Then we start to search for what the Lord's will is for that situation at that moment.
When we find it then we can follow it, IF we are willing to submit to it.We have our own will and can choose because God gave us a choice but for every choice we make there are consequences. But it is better to choose the God's perfect will.
People choose his permissive will because they want to please themselves and satisfy there desires.
In the book of Matt.6:10,where Jesus was teaching his disciples how to pray, he made them to understand that they ought to pray ACCORDING, IN AGREEMENT, IN UNITY, IN SUBMISSION to HIS will in heaven to be MADE MANIFEST on EARTH!
When we do this then we are saying, God of heaven and earth, let your will be done, and not mine. That means we are in submission TO HIS PLAN, HIS WAY, HIS GUIDANCE AND LEADING.
It is imperative for christians to live in accordance to GOD'S plan because when we do, everything will begin to fall in place.
He knows best, He knows the future and the past.HE IS THE ALPHA AND OMEGA and no one else. That's why when he speaks, we know his will and when we follow it we live in submission according to that will and this brings a great change in our lives for his name and glory, Amen.
